I think the thing is that many living in the South East because they are so close to France think of themselves as European, but we down here in the West country have never thought of ourselves in that manner, to us "the continent" is a foreign country, not part of us, and we will always think so.
in 1963 De Gaulle said "Europe is just France and Germany, the rest is just the trimmings".
I personally dont even refer to myself as "British", I am an ENGLISH man born and bred, not a european.

try walking to France(without using the tunnel) and see if you get your feet wet! Britain is an island nation, its surrounded by water, its not on any continent.
What a ridiculous statement. You appear to be as ignorant about geography as you are about vaccines!

What you consider yourself does not detract from what you are. That would be BRITISH and if you are British you are European.

What has me not living in the UK got to do with the UK being on the continent of Europe?

Why would I be worried about what is a geographical fact. The UK is on the continent of Europe and you are British, as am I, even though I don't live in the UK.

Totally Agree, the UK has left the EU and not Europe.

Just because you want it to be does not make it so.

Equally just because you wish it not so doesn't make it not so.

Geographically the Island of Great Britain is in Europe. As is the island of Ireland, the Orkneys, inner and outer Hebrides, Iceland, Gibraltar, Malta, the Balearics, Crete, Rhodes, etc. There's no debate, its not controversial, or up for debate.

The only controversy is arguing the UK isn't in Europe.

It has nothing to do with what I want or don't want. It a geographical fact that the UK is on the continent of Europe. There are only 7 continents...

Africa,
Antarctica,
Asia,
Australia
Europe,
North America
South America.

If the UK is not on the continent of Europe, which one is it on?

I don't follow. If both GB and Ireland are in Europe, why would the UK not be?
