I want to move to Utah. What's a city there that has low-rent apartments, jobs you can do from home that require little skill (lots of at-home jobs require you to live in state), and low crime? Would Provo fit this criteria?

Unless you are LDS (i.e. Mormon), I would advise against your moving to anywhere in Utah County (which is where Provo is located). Salt Lake City, Ogden or any of the communities in between those two cities would be your best bet.

I don't mind mormons. I grew up in a town that was like 10 percent mormon i think.

10% is way different than 90%.

Well I'm willing to give it a shot as long as it meets the criteria.

But why when other places also meet those criteria?

Might as well be Utah. The state sounds like a comfortable place to live.

Certainly not moving east of colorado. Utah is my first choice.

Move where you want. I might suggest something to you first. Do a little search here on this forum. There are endless posts from people who have posted they are considering a move to either Provo or another Utah County destination. The reaction we have to a non-Mormon living in the Provo-Utah County area is a very negative one.

You asked us for our advice. Now, you appear to be quarreling about it. Did you want an honest opinion or did you just want us to agree with you?

I think rather than explain all the reasons to you why this community might not be a good fit, I'll encourage you to do that search.

It is such a strange question, period, it reads to me like someone with very limited resources looking for somewhere cheap to live. The prevalence of mormons is the least of her problems. It sounds like she would be better going to a state with a better social welfare set up. Low rent for non skilled worker who can not leave the house for work? Provo doesn't spring to mind, for sure.
