We are looking to move to Tooele and need honest opinions on how you like or dislike living there. We have 3 children. All girls oldest is 8. We have also heard that utilities there are insanely a lot of money. TRUE OR FALSES?

I live in Stansbury Park, which is in Tooele County and about 15 minutes north of Tooele. Both of my daughters were brought up here and went through all of elementary, junior and high school.

The good: The cost of housing is much lower than Salt Lake. You for sure get more money for your house.
Generally speaking, it's pretty quiet. There is petty theft, mischief and drugs around to be sure. Murders and violent crime really isn't anything that happens often enough to be a concern.
Schools aren't too bad and there are several charter schools that are available if that is something you are interested in. In addition, Tooele County offers Dual Language Immersion at several of the schools in several different languages. Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, and German I believe, are what is currently offered.
I don't have utility costs from Salt Lake to compare to. Electric and Gas would be the same as any where else, depending on your usage. My trash is through the county, not the city and I pay $45 every three months for trash. My water and sewer would also be different than Tooele City, but here are the costs for the city: http://tooelecity.org/wp-content/upl...edule-2017.pdf

The Bad: It can be a tedious drive to Salt Lake sometimes. I-80 will occassionally get shut down for various things (usually car accidents) and it can be a LONG wait to get into Tooele.
There really isn't much for teens to do. If they are involved with high school activities it isn't as bad. Younger kids still want play dates and such so it isn't that much of an issue until they get to be a little older.

Where are you looking to move, roughly?

Well...truth be told, Tooele really isn't known for its culture. If that's what you're looking
for, SL would be better for you.
