We are a family of two moving from New York into Vancouver area in January. We’ve looked at about a dozen apartment developments during our recent visit to Vancouver and liked most of them. However, the reviews online tells us a different story. A lot of tenants of Vancouver complain about noise, thin walls, parties after midnight, crazy kids screaming outside… I would avoid it at all costs. We are actually very much would like a peaceful and well managed place (even if we have to pay more). We work and relax with friends just like other people, but during normal hours of the day. We both liked Columbia Place development somewhere by Mill Plain Road and NE 164 Ave, but not sure about their grounds and safety. Does anybody have any ideas how to find a good place to stay for 2-3 years? Are those reviews online reliable? Who writes bad reviews? Angry tenants? Who writes good reviews? Management?

Look into apartments managed by IDM Management. Cascade View Apartments is a smallish complex but seemed to be well managed when we stayed there. IDM owns Cascade View.
