Don't be fooled by those who say we have no bugs! For the first time in our lives we have hired quarterly pest control. Every subdivision has to have a storm pond, which attracts mosquitos big time. They are controlled by "bombs" that are thrown in the pond. Last year the Box Elder bugs were terrible, and nothing kills them unless you want to soap and water your whole house. At this time of year the frogs love to serenade us in full force. I have no idea how many there are, but it sounds like thousands. The frogs, the eagles, geese, are all sounds I like living in my little corner of the county.

Yeah mosquitoes abound with all the wetlands and water management features around. They just have a shorter breeding season here.

Don't forget all the garter snakes too. I've seen more snakes here that I ever did living in Florida.

Wow, thanks... who knew? We're covered up with mosquitoes here in the summer, but we generally don't bother to bomb them. My guess is it would be a losing battle. (?) We all need more bats to take care of the situation. I like frog serenades, so getting a few more months of that per year would be okay by me.
