A market-by-market basis, but still positive news. The name sounds dumb though.

Expect the usual people to chime in about how unhealthy plant based meats are, so on and so on.

Big Mac or McPlant, that will soon be the two options consumers in line at McDonald’s (MCD) will have for their latest high-calorie fast-food dinner.

The Golden Arches said Monday it has developed a plant-based patty it will dub the McPlant. A McDonald’s spokesperson tells Yahoo Finance the McPlant will be put into test in 2021 on a market-by-market basis.

I just dislike McDonald's so much that I am not excited.

I guess it's a good thing for a road trip. At home? I can make something delicious using items that I already have in my pantry.

What I do like is that every time a meat-oriented corporation comes out with a faux meat product, we can see the tide is changing. Mickey Dee's is not doing it out of the goodness of their hearts.

Trust me on this.

I don't trust it, honestly. How can I trust a company who's fries are not even VEGETARIAN in the US?

They will probably find a way to make it as tasteless and unhealthy as their regular garbage food!

McDonald's has long had a veggie burger (available only at select locations); I recall seeing it on the menu at the location by West 4th Street near NYU in Manhattan over a decade ago. I didn't eat it then and I won't eat this revamped version now. But I'd imagine that it will be tasty.

Sounds almost as horrible as the rest of their "menu". They'll probably continue to look everywhere else but fixing the problems with their existing "food".

I read this as "...ought to be fried."
