Great suggestion -- those are actually quite good!

Hmm..

Boca burgers & Trader Joe's Soy nuggets are my fave... also Trader Joe's has these chicken-less chicken pieces that taste great in fajitas. There's some other brand that makes good meat-less taco meat but i'll have to come back with that one.

TVP is good and can be used in a lot of recipes as a meat substitute, but I get Soy overloaded sometimes!

Someone mentioned Portabella Mushrooms...fabulous! Also try eggplant. Both grilled make great sandwiches.

My other suggestion would be Seitan or Temphe. Make fajitas; fry up some seitan with zucchini, onion, green pepper and mushroom. Make a BBQ Temphe Burger; grill the tempe with onion and mushroon in a pan on the stove with some BBQ sauce, throw it on a bun...yum. I have also made country fried seitan...just like steak but no meat!

These products can be hard to find in your local grocer. Try the dairy section...near the organic yogurts.

Your other option is...no meat substitute. My boyfriend loves my vegetarian meals. 3 Bean Enchiladas, Pesto Tortellinni, Creamy Tomato Basil Soup with Grilled Cheese, Gaint Salads, Eggplant Parm, Veggie Lasagna, Thai Curry, Stir Fries, Quiche!!! Believe me they won't miss the meat.
