I am moving to Thousand Oaks in three weeks and I am finalizing my living arrangements. I will be living in an apartment. We have it narrowed down to two places and need advice as to which would be better. Both are basically the same price and are both very nice. But the areas are what we need to know about....one is Archstone Plaza which is on Conejo School Rd. and Los Feliz...and the other is Arroyo Villa Apt. which is on Rancho Conejo Blvd. we have been to both and Arroyo is a bit farther away...but we are looking for advice as to which would be better to live in. Thanks for any locals help in advance

I live in Thousand Oaks and I think I can help...

If it was me, I'd chose the one on Rancho Conejo. The other is in a not-so-good area... Further down on Los Feliz are TONS of low income apts. The apts. that you are looking at are very nice, but the neighborhood is not.

The ones on Rancho Conejo are in a much better location. You have the office bldgs & NICE, EXPENSIVE homes as neighbors

Just my 2 cents ...

Glad I could help. I am sure you will love that area. If you are hikers, there are great trails back behind the apt bldgs. You will see some wildlife for sure.. Deer, lots of squirrels, bunnies.

Make sure to come back and let me know how much you like it, after you move in!

If you have any other questions about the area, I'd be happy to help.

Archstone is very nice, and I believe near the end of the street. One of the big pluses of living there would be the new amenities including a gym and new appliances plus just down the street from the Lakes and everything else that Thousand Oaks Blvd. has available, so great for walks to dinner at night, hanging out at the Lakes, or a variety of other spots. Once you are in your apartment you would be very safe as well as leaving to walk around. Crime is very low here and usually just petty crime. I truly would not be concerned.

SoCalMomma,

I have been here 2 weeks now. Living in a nice apt. on the T.O./Newbury Park border. Love everything about it so far. The people are so nice and there is lots to do..although I really haven't had much time since I have been studying for my job. But thanks so much for all of your imput...it really helped me in choosing what is ending up to be the perfect place for me to live, work and start to raise my family!!! Thanks again! GlenB
