Well, that's rolling in the cash compared to the 9 or 10 an hour in this part of the state...

Hi all, i'm considering relocating from Brooklyn (working in NYC) to VT. What kind of lifestyle could I expect being a young single male earning a salary in the mid 80's?

thanks for the response! Considering I may be earning 40% more than I am currently in NYC, I figured I would have significantly more income at my disposal, but then I came here and read a lot of the cost of living and started to think it may not be as much of an improvement as I had originally thought.

"Kings" who are residents of Vermont

- can afford to ski at Vermont's ski areas
- can afford to buy groceries at the chi-chi stores
- can afford higher end clothing at the outlets
- don't have to worry about paying for heat, rent property taxes etc.
- can drive a nice car
- can eat out a lot
- can take vacations

For that matter that is also true for someone who is not a resident of Vermont. $80,000 is a LOT for VT.
