I hope those hikers are dressed warm. It doesn't even take temps in the 30's to cause hypothermia.

Yeah... definetly...maybe even below 3000 might see flakes fly.

I'm getting worried about this storm next week...Maybe Vermont might miss it but flooding could get bad again...

I'll post some stuff this weekend after seeing some more model runs.

How about colder temperatures overall? 12Z GFS computer model indicates a pattern shifts to a western ridge and eastern trough in about 5-7 days.

many areas in the U.S broke heat temps yesterday...today will be another day of testing records.

But yes, more fall like/average temps on their way but I dont see a cold wave until end of month. Models showing another quick shot of cold air around the 21st still. Will be interesting as the low develops with it.

As far as the rains coming this week...models backed off the really heavy stuff so I dfont think Vermont will have to worry about flooding again... It will be 3 days of rain but not steady or heavy all the time.

While it wasn't necessarily record high temps in Springfield, it appears that no real big change is in sight!

Springfield's definitely still in cricket-hatching and grasshopper-mating season! I saw grasshoppers mating today!

Also saw a cricket actually chirping on a leaf in the grass today!

In downtown Springfield, hardly any changing trees!

And predictions indicate that more warm spells are likely than rain in the northeast.

While predictions indicate more flooding rains in the pacific northwest.

This storm coming this week wil mark the change for fall like weather coming.

That storm on the 21st continues to show up on the model. I still say accumulating snows for elevations higher then 2000 feet.

I dont know about Vermont but in SW CT October 2011 has warmer day highs then last 4 years but cooler night lows then last year.

The Weather Channel says that it won't be like 9/7/2011. Hooray.

While The Weather Channel changed the Springfield 10 day forecast, still shows temp rebounds.
