Well you could....but I figured I would save you the typing....

Plus it will go like this:

They have trash in their yards, cars, buses etc.

But they were here first and it isn't against the law....it's their land...

But it lowers my property value.....

Doesn't matter, your proerty value is of no legal concern to them, plus what you call junk they call "stuff" and they never know when they may need their "stuff" again....

Then someone will say they have never seen this junk around a singlewide with a tyvek palace attached to it while visiting VT.....

To which we inform them to venture away from the Waterbury/Stowe area or Burlington area and find some dirt roads so they can see Vermont....

Then someone gives up the internet argument and says...."trash or no trash I love Vermont.....we're coming up for the balloon festival".....then they get all maple syrupy on us and wax poetic about the beautiful farms and quaint villages beckoning them.

Then the thread dies......and we repeat it in 6 months......see you then....

Just for the record, I don't know if Addison County is kept up better than the rest of Vermont, but every time I drive over the Champlain Bridge to New York I'm immediately struck by how poor and run down it looks compared to Vermont.

Yankees fans......that is the only plausible explanation.

Addison county is really not too bad.

Even Rutland makes most of NY look like a dump.

I prefer to live in Vermont, but one thing it's never going to have in my lifetime is Manhattan. You can't hunt, be a mile away from the next person or climb mountains in Manhattan, but it's one of the greatest places in the world for the arts.

Lived off the tip of Manhatten on a place called Governor's Island for 18 months. True, Manhatten has great arts. True Vermont will never be Manhatten and I think that is great. Apples and oranges. If you want the arts, travel to Manhatten. If you wants outdoors and rural, travel to Vermont. Vermont also will probably never have low taxes again in my lifetime (like they used to be) and that is sad. Especially with the amount of out-of-staters growing to 50% of the population and more. People say "It isn't as bad as New Jersey/Connecticut". Give it time. I predict the way things are going (I am already seeing Vermont property taxes rising above the $3000.00 mark) we will probably see VT taxes matching those of NJ in another 10 years.

So maybe the taxes aren't as bad, but the cost of living in Chittenden county (especially in Burlington) is just as expensive as living in NJ or LI. I've lived in both of those places. Housing and taxes etc. may not be as costly, but the comically low salaries and extra winter expense make up the difference.

Well I don't think it's a coincidence that as more and more people from states like CT and NJ move up here, that the state is getting more like those cesspools as far as taxes, lack of affordability, increasing development, etc.
