Hi,

I am contemplating moving to Manchester, VT from NYC. Several of my friends who have moved to NJ have had wonderful experiences in joining their new communities by joining what is called a "Newcomers Groups," which basically, is an invite to meet other new residents of the community who haved moved into the area in the last 2 years. These groups plan socials on a somewhat regular basis and membership only lasts for 2 years - then, I guess, you are no longer a newcomer and hopefully, at this point, you have met many others in your community. My question is: If I were to move to Manchester, VT or its surrounding area, are there any organizations similar to this? If not, what is the best way one could become part of the community (no children to speak of yet)?
