We are having trouble talking to our son at college. Inconsistent reception etc.

Any suggestions?

Where is he located? AT&T and Verizon generally have the best coverage.

Not Sprint!

In most parts of the state I've been in, it seems AT&T serves people the best.

I have Verizon and I get good coverage almost everywhere I go. It has definitely improved over the last ten years or so, although I don't doubt that there are still some dead zones, although there is no place I regularly have to go to (I live in Montpelier and regularly travel to Burlington, Rutland, Brattleboro, White River, Bennington, and Newport) where I just figure I shouldn't even bother trying because I know coverage will be bad.

What school does your son go to? I wouldn't be surprised if coverage is still bad at Sterling College, for instance.

He is somewhere in southern Vermont between Bennington and Brattleboro.

Coverage is HORRIBLE - unless he is visiting one of those cities.

We saw signs foe Sterling while we were up there, so he is probably close.

Sounds like Marlboro. Sterling is in northern Vermont.

I have signal for data while in the Green mountains camping, from Lyndon, through rutland and south of there. Whatever...

Default Verizon

Go with Verizon and tell your son to get a booster from Verizon for his place.
