Not to mention there is nothing in New England that gives me the eebee-jeebees more than the South Royalton curve on west/northbound I89 on a slick night.......well, maybe the Mt. Washington climb.
There is an airport in West Lebanon. I flew in there once, got off the plane, and had two quick drinks in the bar, if that tells you anything.
 The Knapp airport near Montpelier is a similar experience.

Yup, if your driving too fast with slick conditions that curve can give ya 10 sec of the white knuckle experience.
Did anyone mention the COST of living in Hanover? Most expensive place within an hour of South Royalton. The homes that allow you to walk to the supermarket, i.e. the Co-Op in Hanover are in the $500-$700K range and need renovation work. That $$$ would buy you a palace in South Royalton.
I would live in South Royalton itself. Live near the green, you can walk to the restaurants, the bars, and the market. There are international students at the law school. If you don't like to drive, then the commute in the winter from Hanover will scare you to death once a week. The roads can be very bad with snow, slush, ice.
If you are working at the law school realize that it almost never closes for bad weather.
