I just wanted to wish everyone and their friends and families a safe, happy and healthy holiday...I think in these trying times, we all have a lot to be thankful for (hopefully!) and let's try to take a step back and relish in the good in our lives.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Thank you.

Happy Thanksgiving to you too, and everyone.

Happy Thanksgiving All! I've got the turkey in the oven today...our family meal is today with my parents and my sister's family.(and my kids) Tomorrow my kids go with their father for another meal...this prevents them having to double stuff on the same day! I made apple maple stuffing and then I'm glazing the turkey with maple butter. This is the first time I've done my turkey this way and it already smells "delicious". If it is good I may be starting a new tradition! Yum Yum Yum!

Happy Thanksgiving, all.

I have an invitation early, then I want to spend some time at Brattleboro's Community Thanksgiving. The Community Thanksgiving is a 30 year old Brattleboro tradition. I love the idea of it. No one is without a place to go. And volunteers bring Thanksgiving dinner to shut-ins and to emergency personnel.

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We had ours in NJ, but will be driving up to VT tomorrow for a week's vacation....cannot wait! The only bummer is that we're taking DS back to college in VT, but at least his Christmas vacation is just a few weeks away.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! My daughter called Monday to ask if she could come for Thanksgiving dinner with her new boyfriend. Of course the response was "yes" even though I knew my oven was giving me problems. I ordered parts for it and paid to expedite the shipping but unfortunately I didn't get it until 4:30 Thanksgiving Eve. I never knew when I turned it on if it would work and if it did work, I didn't know how long it would stay on before shutting itself off. As luck may have it, I put together a cheesecake only to have the oven turn itself off when I opened the door to put the cake in. My husband brought the cheesecake over to the neighbors who were so kind to let us put it in their spare oven. On Thanksgiving day I am bragging about being the cheesecake queen and how great my cheesecakes are...when I cut the cake the middle wasn't cooked enough and it looked like pudding.
My husband changed the circuit box on the oven and it looked like it was working again, or so I thought. We put the turkey in and it was fine for about three hours. My husband opens the oven door to take the foil off so the turkey starts to brown and wouldn't you know it.....the oven craps out again! My husband had to finish cooking the turkey on the outside grill. It was a bit dry but edible.
Even with all the electronic problems, the holiday was wonderful. My daughter seems very happy with her new love and he seems to adore her. Life is Good!

And this is what true family memories are made of! Glad you worked together despite the inconveniences. It makes for story entertainment on future family gatherings.
