My summer Electric bill is less than my winter!

I just searched for some regulators on line . . . only thing that comes up is either grill or rv regulators which will not handle the btu's needed to heat a house . . . need something that can handle 300,000 btu min, or that will frost up too, and then you are cold . . .

I've seen 1000 gal underground tanks all frosted up, and not producing gas . . . after we dug them out . . .in W. Leb, NH . . . behind the Price Chopper . . .

I like to be warm!

Hmm, got an underground house or do you really like it hot?

Wood heat will always be my preference as long as I can physically stick pieces of wood into a fire...

Summer's I keep the A/C off unless it gets up to 85 in the house . . . which isn't often, I live in a townhouse, so I have two neighbors protecting two walls . . . I do turn the A/c all the way down to 82 once the house gets up to 85 though! So yes I do like it warm! But I'm frugal in the winter, and only maintain 70 degrees! My one neighbor keps his at 80 all winter and has about $150 a month bill. Our town house is built out of concrete & quite well insulated too!

I also prefer wood, but out here we don't need much heat, I've seen some home that did not even have a heater! Wood also is scarce around here . . . When I lived in Springfield, VT I would cut, split and burn up to 20 cords a year! Nothing like a wood fire!

Seriously! I used to live in a leaky old Northern New England house about 1800' sq ft, heated with 2 woodstoves. We went through maybe 5 cords a year during an especially cold year.

Default Well . . .

I only used 8-9 for the house . . . the rest I used for my oven to bake bread . . .

And Pizza too!

To get it up to temp, takes alot of wood . . .

That is a 3' X 5'6" fire box . . .

WOW! That looks delicious! Do you do that in Arizona, too? Was that at least a business expense?

Okay now that makes sense, those wood fired ovens do use a fair amount of wood. Food from them tastes a lot better though...

I'm jealous. That's on my 'dream' list, if we ever build a home!

Yes it was a business expense . . .I had a bakery selling bread in Springfield . . . I only made pizza for ourselves and friends. I haven't built another one yet out here, but I want too!

And yes, anything baked it it tastes much better . . .
Berne Brot (simular to Challah)

Oatmeal:

Volkornbrot (a 100% Rye full grain heavy German bread):

Almost 6 pounds! Cooks in a "cooler oven" less than 500 degrees! for about 2 hours!
