Anyone else going out to Midnight Madness tonight to get a copy? We are. I know we could just wait till tomorrow, but hey it's something to do. Might be interesting. Can't wait to see this game. I love the FF games!

Ive never been a fan of the Final Fantasy games. I guess its because almost all of the Final Fantasy fans Ive known have been the typical never-had-a-girlfriend / nerdy star trekkie nooby type folks. Role playing games just have never been interesting to me.

I have Elder Scrolls Oblivion RPG but was just bored out of my mind with it.

-=/ Oblivion was great. You could easily put 150 hours into it and still not see everything.

Not all of us FF people are loser nerds who are butt ugly...I use my dorkiness to my advantage

FF13 is the next game on our "to buy" list, but I'm wanting to finish my second playthrough of Eternal Sonata before I start working on FF13.

Its gotten mediocre reviews. It got 83 in gamerankings.com index. For such a high profile game that spent so long in development the expectations are very high. I have not played it yet, but it will arrive soon through gamefly. I will wait till then to give an opinion about it. I am hoping for the best.

I'm a couple hours into it. After playing so many western rpgs lately, it's quite a shock to go back to jrpgs. Androgynous characters, very melodramatic, cheesy lines, etc. And how in the world could they not include volume controls?!?!?!?! That alone is a tremendous letdown! The sound/music is not balanced well at all...

But, the visuals look great. Combat is fun, and I've read it gets better. So far, I'd give it a C. I'm hoping it improves.

Might be your stereo. Sounds great for me.

I'm a longtime FF-player (FF1+)(no, not your stereotypical 'nerdy guy'). I was surprised that I took to this game. Its very different from previous games in the series. It seems that they are trying to make an RPG more mainstream to draw in a different demographic.

I say, good for them. Honestly, considering its been ~22 years since I played the original, I don't have time to devote to these games like I did previous games in the series. I would not have played this game if it was as involved as FF3, FF7 or FF12.

Good fun and entertainment. So, it works for me. Not sure about the die-hards out there.

LOL, I have never watched Star Trek. I dislike Scifi/Fantasy shows in general. Go figure that I'm a FF fan. I'm a girl as well, so no girlfriends for me.

I bought the game the day it came out and I am really enjoying it.

I do miss the open exploration of FFXII though, but didn't care much for the characters.

I really like the battle system, its keeping me on my toes. I have reached the beginning of Chapter 9, but had to take a break to focus on my thesis. I really want to continue with the game, but school comes first.
