Again, there's no facts there...many federal agencies contradict the census bureau...still using that meaningless Mason-Dixon argument are we? You need to use other ideas.

I don't have time to read 61 pages of posts. But my first reaction is simple. Northern Virginia is Northern, and Southern Virginia is Southern. Perhaps it is as simple as that.

I've been all over Maryland, and yes I do hate Maryland. Well, most of it.
Wait, are you even from Maryland? Are you a southerner?

There are a lot of Marylanders out there who would actually be insulted by being associated with the south. Just saying.

Most people that went to grammar school know that Virginia is a Southern state. People moving in is not going to change the facts.

Missouri was admitted to the C.S.A on November 28, 1861. The state was even given a star on the official flag of the confederate states. You need to get your facts correct because I believe you have Missouri confused with Kansas. Fighting and rioting took place even after martial law was declared in Baltimore so you make no point here?? When Lincoln sent federal soldiers in to occupy the city all he!! broke loose. Many government officials including the Mayor and Police Chief were held in prison because they opposed what was taking place in the city. Lincoln did not care what Baltimore wanted, he seized it for strategic reasons(naval blockade) etc... It wasn't as if rioting in Baltimore all happened on one single day and then ended?? This went on numerous times during the sectional conflict. Horace Greely of New York advocated for Baltimore to be burnt to the ground.(some character he must have been)

Once again opinions against Maryland being a southern state is nothing more than just an anti-Maryland based opinion.........
