Sorry.

Virginia Episcopal School -- it's a 9-12 coed day and boarding school in the Peakland area of Lynchburg. James River Day School (1-8, maybe k) is on Boonsboro Road and many of the children from James River go to VES for high school.

There is also a good Catholic school, Holy Cross School. I'm not sure the grades of that one.

Best of luck.

Don't forget New Covenant, k-12. Highest percentage of National Merit Scholars in the region, if not the state (15% of graduating seniors are finalists or commended scholars. Also highest avg SAT scores of all schools in the region. As a college educator, I appreciate the classical model and I have found the Senior thesis work of these students to be as good or better than most of my college students. No football or baseball, though.

What about non-religion based private schools? Are there any?
We are spiritual, but not churchy people.

Here's a link about schools in the area Region 2000 | The Region's K-12 Schools

I know you were more interested in Forest (which I don't have much experience and no nothing about their schools) -- didn't mean to take thread away from that area.

Best of luck!

It's pretty quiet in Forest. Usually rich people live in Forest because they want to enjoy trees and quietness. I love this place, very safe.

Default forest is lovely,

Forest is in Bedford county, and you will likely be paying less in taxes. Forest is a lovely and desirable location especially if you want to have quick access to all of the busyness/traffic in Lyncburg, but then a short drive home to a home in Forest. Best of both worlds.
Boonesboro is a second choice, except to get to town and the mall you may not be comfortable with the drive route. There is a section of town you'll drive through that might not feel safe on your personal meter.

Not really. For the mall you can just take the 501 around town right to Wards Road/mall
The little section of Rivermont near downtown is hardly scary.

..if your in Boonesboro, isn't Rivermont the only way to downtown?
I used to always try to figure out a different route to no avail.
Is Boonsboro actually part of Lynchburg, or Bedford?

the mall route, yes, good idea!
