How many do you plan to sponsor and take into your home? Or is this something you expect others to do?

"How many do you plan to sponsor and take into your home? Or is this something you expect others to do?"......not everyone is equipped financially/physically to sponsor a single refugee or perhaps a family, and those of us who do support the humanitarian effort, no doubt hope those who do have the means and compassion would step up to the task. The fact that not everyone can volunteer should not be viewed as a "NIMBY" mentality, but more as a "would if I could" mentality....just as the mentality of those who oppose the effort should not be viewed as "ok, I got in, now close the door to others, it's my country now and they don't belong".

Using the "OK, I got in, you stay out plan", according to this census data, of the 318,857,056 US Citizens counted in 2014, 312,479,914 of us do not belong here. Where would this country be without those initial immigrants, and their descendants ? Sure, we would have lots of open space, lots of timber, lots of buffalo, more respect for the environment like the native population, but where would we be as compared to other countries that did not subscribe to that plan ? Sure glad my parents got in when immigrants were not viewed as some sort of evil plague.

Regards
Gemstone1

Yawn. People host refugees all the time. We aren't all cowards.

And our governor (who did make a statement that we will accept refugees) has exceeded my expectations in many ways.

So, then your answer is "yes". How many are you going to take in?

Exactly, these people should switch places with the refugees and see what it feels like to have your family taken away from you and have your whole neighborhood bombed.

I don't mind hosting Syrian refugees.

Even though there is no way to properly vet these refugees? Well, at least, you are willing to take some into your own home---even though they won't be properly vetted.

As long as they ain't a bunch of law callers and mind they're own business they should be allowed to come here and live peacefully. If they're coming here just to get free Safelink phones to call the law on somebody then they shouldn't get free phones or access to wifi.

I'm not from Maryland. Is this supposed to offend me?? lol nice try. And when you say Virginia you mean northern Virginia right? Which is liberal...... Again, nice try. Also Virginia isn't a red state again...... Nice try.
