My daughter says that she can hear it from her room. We live 3 or 4 miles away from the tracks.

Oh wow,but it is really that annoying? I mean,i heard it is,i live in Alex VA and i'm planning to move to gaithersburg,how many times it passes at night? Thank you for the feedback!

I can't answer that. I'm Deaf. My daughter doesn't think it's that bad even though she can hear then.

You mean the MARC train? I live 2-3 miles by the train station. Been here for almost half a year and now I'm pretty adjusted to it that I can sleep soundly through the night. I'd say there's 3-4 trains at midnight (if I'm awake and counting....), but this is b'c I live by the train station and the train horns every time it passes by. The train itself isn't annoying.

I don't know which trains. My guess is freight trains.
