Why is it that most of our socioeconomic peers are the same way?

Why is it that when I was a kid growing up in poverty and had to go to an urban public school in which I was part of the tiny racial minority I was singled out repeatedly on account of my race? Why did I want to commit suicide on many accounts because of a hostile school environment that had on a daily basis gave the possibility of granting my wish for me? My poor mother tried her best by complaining to the school and going to every parent conference but the school just shoved it off as insignificant and/or 'children being children'. Stop being stupid, people. Schools are pathetic. Yeah, sure, parents that don't care mess up the system, but the school needs to fix the messed up children or ship them away. Parents of bad children are the problem, the schools are the problem, the TEACHERS ARE THE PROBLEM, and our local/state governmental bodies are the problem. Bring back corporal punishment capability to teachers and destroy all individual school districts and have them directly governed by the US Department of Education.

Or we can continue ignoring the gigantic elephant in the room and keep saying its all parents that are at fault.
I keep saying African American kids can be vicious to non- AA kids at school. People simply either don't want to acknowledge it or are in denial. Being that my folks are Black African I didn't get the full force of their abuse but when I transferred from a private school to the public school during junior high, I was shocked how mean many of the African-American students were not just mean but vicious towards teachers, other students and even themselves.

I agree 100% with you. African American culture creates the disastrous school environment in PG, now Charles County and Baltimore.

Defeatist statement; so you are essentially saying that there is nothing that can be done to fix dysfunctional students creating a culture of dysfunction in school.

You said: 'They did not become these teenage monsters at 15-18 years old.'
Are you not familiar with hormones? It is no secret that parents claim that the teenage years are the worst.

You said: 'If you spanked little Logan and Little Cindy when they were 2 y/o...'
Since you are a person that 'works with children', I will assume you are aware of child developmental psychology. You treat situations in accordance to the requirement; spanking a 2 year old is never the answer. Corporal punishment should not be used as a 'go-to' much like 'zero tolerance' policies are currently across the US's K-12 education system. It is a corrective action utilized to prevent monsters from being monsters (which they are today, SURPRISE, SURPRISE).
Its not a defeatist statement. Its the truth. The minute a parent is doing wrong in the household they area quick to call us and say "come get his ass" Like removing him is the answer.

Im very familiar with hormones, however, mighty funny you have some kids that are monsters in their teenage years and some that arent. Good Parenting??? I think so

And since you only took the "spanking at 2 y/o" phrase out of context because Im sure u didnt read the rest, you would see that I wrote that if Little Logan or Cindy raised their hand to hit back at their parent and the parent laughed it off instead of teaching them that you are not suppose to hit an adult then dont be surprised when they hit back at 10, 15, and such. Or If they spanked them from when they said "No" because they couldnt get their way and talk back at a young age, then it wouldnt be a problem when they were older and being disrespectful in school.

Read up on open systems theory and you'll see that the premise is that most social systems like schools are open not closed systems and as a result numerous independent variables impact the system both inside the school (sub system) and outside the school in the environment (super system).

Putting the blame solely on teachers is what is truly disingenuous. Especially when the reality is that the school is a dependent variable impacted by parents, students, teachers, school boards, community socio-economics etc...

Good example is that if you take the best private school teachers and admins, throw them into the PG County public system you are likely to see minimal impact. Why? Because you have only changed one of numerous e independent variables impacting the dependent variable which is student scholastic performance.

I know you want to perpetuate this myth that blacks don't play lacrosse, but that's simply not true and I can list over hundred currently playing in this area.

You weren't asking the question. All I asked was where do they play lacrosse and you respond:

Several of the high school

How is that answering my question?

People play lacrosse? I thought it was just a town in Wisconsin.

Sounds like it. How's that working out for you? Oh, right. It's not working out well at all. Try again.
Actually, if you read my posts, you'll find that I am

1) very pleased overall with the academic rigor of the PG dedicated TAG school that my children attend
2) am actively involved in the school and committed to making ongoing improvements and being part of the solution

I'd saying things are "working out well" for my children, yes.

I am not ignoring a problem nor am I advocating expulsion for children who "are not at fault."

I also work full-time for a national nonprofit organization that is focused on advocating for all children nationwide within schools and at home. I'd say I'm pretty invested in trying to solve our educational challenges. Other than talk about it, what are you doing to spur change?

I wasn't asking the questions. You were, and I and others answered them.

So, to get back to your original question. Yes several, meaning more than two, high schools in PG county play lacrosse.

Bowie, and Roosevelt are two public schools. This number will grow in the next 5 years due to the popularity of the sport.

Two private high schools are Dematha and Palloti.

I just listed four high schools. More than two, by definition, several.
