I know there has been several post, but I am new to this forum and not sure how to search effectively. Anyways I will be relocating to work at Walter Reed and looking for ideas as far as where to live. I would like somewhere that's close to the metro maybe where I'm able to walk from home to the metro, or something where I can actually even walk to work. I am looking to live in an era where the high schools are great. Any suggestion? I will be able to spend $3000 a month or less. And I am looking for at least a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom. It will be great to have a finish basements.

Downtown Bethesda if you're fine with an apartment or the very rarely available small/unrenovated house in the surrounding neighborhoods (only one currently available on Zillow: https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/4...?fullpage=true).

Rockville or Shady Grove if you want your money to go a bit further for a nicer house or townhome.

There is also a decent local bus system called the Ride-On bus. It will extend your options for neighborhoods. Most of the Ride-On routes terminate at Metro stops. Thus you could also live in Kensington and ride the 33 bus to the Metro stop for WR. The link to routes is here: DOT Transit - Ride On Routes
