Definitely Channel 4, NBC. Jim Vance and Doreen Gentzler are the perfect complimentary yin and yang with the good mix of professionalism yet casual comraderie. I prefer all of almost all of the Channel 4 newcasts to any other, at 4pm, 5pm, 6pm and 11pm. I like the Channel 5 (Fox) 10pm news however. I really just don't like Channel 7 or 9 for whatever reason. Their reporting and setup just seems more shoddy.
I'll just limit myself to saying that I find all of them absolutely horrible. If I were held in Abu Ghraib and forced to watch one from among them though, I'd probably go with Vance and Gentzler as well.

All well and good for personality-cult members, but there aren't any of the locals who do major news, weather, or sports to a level that's comparable to any number of internet sites. So, all you've got is local news, which tends to be essentially trivial items that they then sensationalize for ratings. I did like the piece that one of them did back when the hill down Lee Highway into Rosslyn Circle froze into a sheet of solid ice and nobody from Arlington County knew about it. They were there with cameras and narration as every single car that came over the crest of the hill spun out of control and crashed into something. Pretty funny. Except probably if you happened to be in one of those cars, I suppose. Otherwise, I just don't see the point of these productions. It certainly isn't to provide an intelligent and informed presentation of the day's news. If I want info-tainment, I can always read the National Enquirer...
