That's a courageous pharmacist but I agree with Walgreen's on this one. Most employers have a no weapons no tolerance policy. I wouldn't feel safe knowing that a customer or employee had a gun on them at any time. Remember the store clerk who Executed a teenage robber, injured him with the first shot then stood over the kid and finished him off - he was charged with murder or manslaughter I believe. Theres a vid of it, unnecessary if u ask me
According to the video, they are saying they have a policy against escalating a situation. If someone is near you at point blank range with a gun, how much more escalated can a situation get?

The gunman attempted to shoot him in the face 3 times at point blank range. If the gun did not jam, he would be dead. I hope Walgreen's has to pay Millions.

You can't really see that from the video, but if true the pharmacist is alive because the guy's gun jammed not because he had a gun. 99+% of robberies involve no shooting unless there's a second gun. 99.9999999% of pharmacists will never be proficient enough with a weapon to use one in a combat situation.

It's not clear whether the robber was reacting to the clerk grabbing his gun or whether he was attempting to outright murder the store clerk. I presume the former. Why else would he be dragging them around the store at gunpoint one minute and then diving behind the counter the next? Given the different camera angles, it's hard to determine the precise chronological sequence of events.
I find it highly unlikely that a petty thief attempting to get a few dollars and some oxycodeine would be so careless as to add homicide to his rap sheet.
