By decent I mean physically attractive, educated, a good personality and treats people with respect and carries himself well.
Am I being unrealistic in expecting to find that here?

Sorry, I don't know too much about your world, but all gay guys that I knew from college tend to succeed in relationship through what they do and people they meet from what they do for a living.
But, really... Even straight people lie a lot about themselves, or even more. Except for me. But I'm straight, so I have hard time meeting girls who don't do that either. But I'm a connoisseur (whatever that f means).

Well no one's perfect, but I know a few gay guys who would meet that criteria pretty well.
They're in relationships and I'm a girl so obviously I haven't dated them, but if I was gay, I'd be interested lol.
It's like any other dating scene really...you just have to sift through the junk until you find the diamond. It's tough for everyone who isn't hot and rich and powerful, but you can't give up.
The gay guys here are really snooty, but I'm definitely not like that. I have experience what you are dealing with, so I definitely understand. Just hang in there, eventually someone will come along. I was in a 2 year relationship and enjoyed it. I went for a guy that wasn't part of that "culture", meaning into themselves and putting others down. Try joining some organizations and definitely stay away from the gay bars. Those are the worst for meeting people.
