I tried to map them out on google maps before the run. I then wrote the directions down on little pieces of paper that I folded up and put in my pocket of my running pants/shorts that I could try to quickly reference if I was not sure where to go or were lost. I became quite good at that and could usually take a good peak at the paper without slowing down and not tripping. Sometimes I would still get lost but I saved 85 of the 86 maps on my computer. Since I got lost a few times (messy handwriting) a few were from memory but are generally spot on.
