I would agree with you about the sometimes working AC....I had forgotten about that. That could be improved, but even with that significant shortcoming, I still think there are a lot more pluses than minuses.
In relation to the thread, here's a pic I took while riding the new 7,000-series for the first time. This was on the at Branch Avenue bound for DC, I actually say another 7,000-series train go the opposite direction when we left the Suitland station. These cars are breathtakingly beautiful!!!

Those are fantastic! Hope we copy those for LA. At least the style since our train dimensions are different.

Was it derailed? It looks like it was tipped over.
They definitely didn't take height into consideration when they designed the 7000 series cars. My head hits the ceiling as soon as I walk in so I have to stand in the middle of the car if I don't want my head on the ceiling.
