I graduated from college in Dec 2014 with a degree in biomedical science. 3/4's way through my degree, I realized I wasn't going to continue my medical education and go on to grad school. I was so far into my degree that it would have not been worth it to switch majors, so I stuck with it and finished. Anyway, i figured I'd get out and find an entry level job somewhere. I'm not a typical student. I have some years of experience working in marketing and sales prior to going back and finishing my bachelors. I can't find a "real job" to save my life. I figured the bachelor's would help, but no, not really. After searching for a year, I decided I have to make some choices. Today I had a meeting with one of my school's advisers about going to grad school. Right now, I'm mostly interested in getting a master's in finance. I do understand that it's a large field, with many directions, but what I'd like to know is what advice would you give someone who is in my position? Which fields in finance would you recommend I pay special attention to? Classes wouldn't start until August, so what should I be doing now to help my chances of finding a job after I finish?
Help this lost puppy. Thanks for any advice you can provide

Try to get an internship at a finance company as soon as possible, or with the FED/SEC.
In terms of fields...hard to say, things change quickly, what may be hot one moment, may not another. Being good at modeling though does seem to help no matter what.
Target getting your CFA. I agree with internship. I would encourage at a public sector institution -- Fed, Sec, Treasury, Congress, or state agency.
