Hey everyone. I'm an event planner who is currently waiting tables as a result of the economy; my fiance is a career bartender. We're considering moving to DC and working in the service industry there since the industry as a whole has dramatically slowed down where we are (Seattle). I've heard DC is still doing "ok" considering...

Can anyone confirm? Do the restaurants/bars still seem pretty steady? Easy/hard to get a job? We typically work in places that are pretty high-end, with the focus being on the cocktail.

Thanks for any info you may have.

Not sure about the service industry in particular, but unemployment is going up across the region:
