Hello!
We are PCSing to JBLM in August and are looking at few locations for housing.. I love Yelm, however, I'm not sure my husband would like the commute. I am also looking into Puyallup. We have 1 child and LOVE to be outdoors..

Also, we have 3 med/large dogs.. (we are dog trainers, so they are VERY well behaved) but do you think that will be an issue with either locations??

Thank you for any feedback!!!

Rental homes with room for dogs go fast, but both areas do have them.
You will most likely have to pay an additional "per dog" deposit.

I'd also consider Dupont (much closer) and Lacey for more options.

Good luck.

Yelm is still really a one drag town, which is too bad because now it has way too much traffic to get people through efficiently. They did some work recently, but I still think they have a ways to go. Parts of Lacey are really close to the front gates of Fort Lewis. Traffic is so bad around Puyallup, that it may be a shorter commute time.
