I really don't know what is true but if Democrat leaning areas are subsidizing these more Republican areas...well, the Democrats control the state. If the west feels it is sending too much money to eastern Washington, stop sending it, you have the power.
I agree. I think that was "509"'s point of starting this thread - and it seems clear by some of the posts on this thread - that the liberals in Western WA would love it if they did have the tax-revenue clout to MAKE us shut-up. As it is right now, they just want to pretend not to hear us (and tell us to move away).
