Is Washington the next California?

HAS been CA 'north' for many yrs.

Adopting CARB sealed the deal.
for me...50 mpg since 1976, no Dinosaurs, OPEC, or toxic batteries, or CARB (xx,xxx more 'leach' state employees + $xx,xxx, xxx budget)required...

WA DOR has far more ways to torpedo small business than raising the minimium wage. WA is NOT considered business friendly, but it IS the EverGREEN state. ...

My major in college was spatial economics. I studied this topic thoroughly. The studies show excessive minimum wage is a negative proposition for an overwhelming majority of the people. It reduces employment, increases costs, and adds barriers to class mobility.

So, you haven't experienced it and don't know for sure. Got it, thanks.

I know more about the topic than you do obviously.

The Gentoo Economic Stimulus plan:

- move to (name city here)
- lobby the city to triple minimum wage
- profit?

LOL

Where does the money come from, unicorn farts? Every town, city, village, farm, etc. has t import income from somewhere. It does not grow trees. Wealth is also mobile, which also torpedoes your silly idea.

The only places that should desire large minimum wage are places like SF that loathe the underclass & want skilled/elite class people in the unskilled jobs. The best way to **** off a SF Bay Area Elitist is to threaten to add poor people into their neighborhood. Just ask George Lucas.

Could it be that Detroit workers priced themselves out of jobs?

I'm not a fan of the disparity between the CEO's and the front line workers, but I also do not believe that government regulations are the answer. Between the new health care laws and an increase in the minimum wage, small businesses are going to feel the pinch more than the Walmarts and McDonalds of the country.

The unicorn fantayland called the USA, and its non sustainable Keynesian economic model. 3rd grade economics of L and P are quite laughable in our highly construed system where Trillions are printed out of thin air, watering down the working man's earnings and profits, while bolstering those of the Banksters and corporate elite.

Abolish crony govt. from regulating wages and labor. High minimum wage = less access to wealth for the poor, less opportunity to advance in class for both poor and middle class, and higher costs for all. Big business (aka the most wealthy of wealthy) has the most access to, most to gain, and can more easily afford and navigate big govt. regulation than the small guys.

Big crony business LOVES pricing away smaller competitors with labor regulations. Its what Ford did to his smaller competitors. Look at Detroit now.
I consider your Libertarian ideals to be the unicorn fantasy bla bla.... GREEEEEED, throws a wrench in your fantasy. We must regulate the corporate entity Entities have no soul, no morals, without regulation the machine does what it does consume all in its path. The entity must be harnessed to work for the citizens best interest... Real simple... That is what government for the people by the people is for..Stop worshiping big business...

She should be trying to acquire higher wage skills if she hates her job and/or her wage.
We won't side track too far here, but no worries, she has other degrees that pay above minimum wage, BUT her passion and societies need is to care for our elderly... WHAT are you suggesting we have the lowest skilled people take care of our loved ones?????????? Elderly care is big business these days many greedy folks out to make a hefty profit... Lots of snakes in the grass... I do not worship the corporate entity as you do...

Raise the minimum wage and lots of these people will have ZERO jobs. Idiots in DC have practically killed the 40 hour work week with Obamacare. Raising the minimum wage would kill many of these 30 hour jobs completely.
BS!
What are you smoking? The 40 hour work week was destroyed with deregulation and the big sell out of the American worker.... The final nail was put in the coffin around the turn of the millennium. You can thank Wallstreet for that one... The day that ones stock performance became more important than what one produced, killed corporate loyalty to employees, which inturn killed employee loyalty to the company.

Minimum wage should be what employer and employee both agree to, not what some corrupt politician or lazy person who refuses to increase their value thinks it should be.
Silly Libertarian....
Take back control of YOUR government then.. We all need too... I feel your frustration... While I am a Socialist, I feel very sold out and not represented by the majority of our elected officials, they seem to have their own special interests and pocket books in mind not ours.

Math and economics are a fraud? News to me. I don't live in a unicorn fairytale land where money grows on trees and there are no economic consequences to dumb legislation.
Money does grow on trees, the Federal Reserve prints at free will with no policing... INDEED we live in fairy tale land.... This is all one non sustainable bubble... Stop printing let the bubble pop, let the banks fail as they should have... Free the working man from the debt slavery we have been placed in.

Hope and change. Fascist/progressive policy, that the current administration favors, including raising the minimum wage helps the wealthy and hurts everyone else.
This makes no sense..
Best model I have seen is the Socialist model of Finland. Companies do fine, workers do fine. Two cars, college education summer house by the lake, health care, nearly zero crime. Less gap between rich and poor.

We tried "trickle down economics for 30 years, it has nearly destroyed our country.... Time to try something else!
Raise the minimum wage, reduce the gap between rich and poor.

You need to stop being a tool to the wealthy elite.
Classic Donald Rumsfeld spinning....

Me? A for the people by the people Scandinavian style Socialist? A tool for the elite?
OK whatever....

Yes Government is rotten and needs reform! Mc Cain/ Feingold were the last two to even attempt to address campaign finance reform.

I am a self employed small business owner. I have no problems with the health care, and hope that a higher minimum wage gets us a better quality employee. Basically what is happening is the wage earners just above minimum wage know are part of the minimum wage pool. Better selection for those that hire from that pool of workers.

Blaming the workers would be the easy thing to do as it allows the corporations and those who kept bailing them out, to wash their hands clean of any wrong doing. Top down policies ALWAYS fail in the long run.

I haven't made minimum wage in 20 years but I guess simple things are all you're able to understand so I'll let you be.
