Would like to know more about the quality of life for year rounders on the Long Beach Peninsula, Seaview down to the Astoria Bridge area. We know it gets lots and lots of rain.
Things like:
Bugs and bug bites..how big of a challenge? Lived in Oly for years, not bad.
Traffic at busy times...does it drive you nuts or is it doable?
Summers are they mostly busy on the weekend?
Internet access around the peninsula. Looks like there are areas with fast access which we need. Search Results: Broadband Providers for this Area - - National Broadband Map - National Broadband Map Do you have streaming service?

Drinking water issues. Septic issues. Any comments. Are the areas with issues or ages known?
Any experience building a house or bring in a manufactured home. How is the county to work with.
Cellular service map looks great...is it?
In the rainy winter do you get many sun breaks?
Do you mind the drive to Costco in Oregon?
Hows vegetable gardening? Anyone growing Asian pears and other fruit trees?
We are birders, naturalist, low key...Like our internet and a quiet neighborhood.
Any comments on the wide variety of HOA's

...those are just some examples of what I would love to hear more about....any anecdote would be appreciated...thank you very much!

Long Beach is a lot of fun and real nice place in the summer but not so much in the winter.

Just about any where along the coast in early spring you can find houses for sale...reason, when people find out about the harsh winters they tend to sale. Places like Long Beach is a summer area only IMO.

Thanks for your feedback. It's a lot to think about. I grew up on the coast of Maine and think I might like to test drive the much more milder and wetter winter on the LBP... as well as a summer. We lived in rainy Washington as adults too for a few decades before moving away. I guess only time will tell.

Would still love more feedback on my original post. Please keep commenting!

Does anyone have suggestions for finding a long term rental house in good shape?

I have found one property manager and will be contacting other realtors for rental availability.

Do you know what Craigslist section listings post on? Out of Washington or Oregon? Sub group?

Thank you for your help.
