The sky is still filled with smoke, & ash is blowing down on the OP. If we open the windows, grit settles on everything. It's cooler, so I guess that's a plus, & no local fires.

How is your part of WA?

It's hideous down here in Rochester... air still and brown. With a weak brown sun. Took this picture of the prairie on the way to an appointment this morning. Some green hills and mountains should be in the distance there...

(not sure why we got rotated 90 degrees there. )

Seems a little better in Seattle (I'm near Green Lake) today, maybe I'm just getting used to the Trump era post-apocalyptic feeling .

The moon was orange last night, and the sun is orange again today. Can't see the mountain or the foothills. There are little patches of weird dim orange sunlight once in a while. There is more ash on my car today. Today is the first day I've been able to actually smell the smoke.

South of Seattle.

Looks cloudy here (Tacoma), but luckily I don't notice a smoke smell or extra dust. I have had a headache and a bit of a sore throat though.

We had ash on the cars again but not as bad as yesterday. The air in Seattle was more smoky today, but not raining ash. It seems to be worse the closer you are to the fires, so the Eastside high altitudes like where we are at 600' on the plateau and on up toward North Bend is worse than the west side of Lake Washington.

No local fires? The Quarry fire is only 15 miles away, 13 miles from North Bend, that's pretty local. To bad Obama cut funding for forest fire fighters.

Are you sure it was Obama who cut it, vs. the Repubs in Congress? Think Trump isn't going to slash services, among other things?
