That's about all I know, although I remember that when a climber died tragically on Mt. Rainier this summer, the news reports mentioned something about his Romanian heritage and a local community of some sort.

My husband is Romanian and he only knew one handful of people who were Romanian in Seattle. To tell you the truth, to compare with other races in the Seattle area, it is probably less than 1 percent.

If you are Romanian, you might be interested to know about the MaryHill meseum in Eastern Washington, next to the Columbia River. Queen Marie was friends with the founder (Sam Hill) of the museum, and came there to dedicate it, and she brought along a lot of treasures that I am sure any Romanian would be interested to see.

I live in Kirkland and I'm Romanian, I just moved here from NY state, and there are a RIDICULOUS amount of Romanians around here! It's like an invasion! I haven't spoken to any yet because I'm shy, but I hear them ALL THE TIME in restaurants, and even below my own apartment! I don't know what brought them here... maybe Microsoft or Boeing, but this is the largest group of Romanians I have ever seen outside of Bucharest!

My husband is Romanian also. We live north of Seattle in Everett. He and a few other Romanians work for Boeing. We also attended a couple of churches in Kenmore that were nothing but Romanian. There are plenty of Romanians here! I speak some of the language and have heard them in public as well, like at Rite Aid. We also shop sometimes at the Russian grocers and they have told us as well that other Romanians come in to shop.

Join meetup.com and look for the Seattle Romanian Language group, led by "pablo". We meet up about every two weeks, it's lead by someone who is also learning Romanian, but a lot of actual Romanians attend. Pretty fun!
