We will stop at that Walmart in Sequim when there too, it's actually one of the more "normal" ones, like Poulsbo. What I find odd is that there is another Supercenter in Port Angeles, they are just 12 miles apart.
We actually made Walmart visits into a kind of sport. Whenever we are in a new town and they have one we stop in if only to buy 1-2 things and see how "different" the people are there. There are a few, like Renton, WA, Redding and Yreka CA that we would not likely go back into. The nicest one we have been to is actually in Monroe, WA and it's the closest one to us after Renton so we go there every couple of months. In fact we were there last weekend and I looked at the 5 dozen box of eggs, it was $14.16.

I like that QFC, it will suck when it closes. Also, ppl in Port Townsend/Port Hadlock will only have Safeway when QFC closes.

IMO, PA & Sequim Walmart never recovered their inventory post-pandemic. The north peninsula really needs something like Aldi or Winco, especially with the recent population increase.

There was also the Saars Super Saver in PA, that closed a couple of years ago, my parents loved that place. The one in Renton that we went to has also closed.

Egg price update:

URM in Wenatchee: 5 dozen for $23.79

In Russia, they shoot egg profiteers.

You must be shopping at the wrong places 509. There is a Walmart in Wenatchee selling 5 dozen eggs for $14.16, and at the Albertson's there, $11.49.

I got so excited at paying ONLY $5 more for five dozen eggs than at the beginning of the month, that I drove right down to Albertson's!!! I did not go to the WalMart, as their eggs were $8 dollars more than at the beginning of the month.

Yep, I suspected it was a "loss leader" sale.

But you know what is better for a business than a advertised "loss leader" sale??

It is a "loss leader" sale where you DO NOT have the product for sale!!! None, nada, not a crate of eggs to be seen.

I asked for a rain check and was told that I "didn't need one of those, just come back in a day or so". I insisted on the rain check.

But Albertson's did accomplish their objective. I walked out with ONE small bag of groceries for which I paid $60.

We have friends that live in Arizona.
They have to get water delivered by truck to their house.
I don’t think they are allowed to collect rainwater from their rain gutters either.
What happens if the truck stops coming or if they want to double your fee?
Think your pissy now?

Plenty of water in Arizona.

Seriously. A decade or so ago, I looked at a lot of waterfront in Arizona and it was fairly cheap. Never understood why waterfront in those days in Arizona was cheaper than waterfront in Washington.

The problem was you got the waterfront, but a older house as well. Still might have made the wrong decision, not fixing up an old house.

I ended up with a 1/2 acre lot in a RV coop. Annual fees are less than 1,000 a YEAR, and I get water, sewer, cable TV and internet at that price. I do keep a RV on the lot.

The valley has a river running through it even in winter. It does dry up towards the RV park in winter, but there is huge aquifer underneath the area.

Arizona is just going to get rid of its farms, plus they have done an excellent job of managing their water unlike California.

They will be fine.

I get pissy about people violating the light trespass and pollution laws down there.

Why would anybody in their right mind move to Arizona and leave their illegal outside lights on ALL NIGHT???

Bring back Eggs and Gas (and sunshine).

Light pollution is a problem everywhere, just that it is not as pronounced in PNW, since it's often cloudy anyway.

I go to SE AZ (Chiricahua Mtns) frequently and it is not too bad there.

Plenty of eggs, Water, and Fuel. (even for us 'home brewers')
My Texas neighbors are all afraid of the dark, Maybe because we're within 1 hr of the southern border. (every place has plenty of problems, including San Diego. Eggs were pretty expensive there 2 weeks ago. Gas (ick) is definately expensive there.

On your trip to AZ... If you ever happen to take the southern passage due to weather. Swing by the Nethercutt Museum (Slymar) (Free, lots of Pierce Arrows and Rolls Royce)
https://nethercuttcollection.org/visitor-information/

Very nice if you happen to be able to attend a Silent Movie with Theater Organ accompanyment.

Hey, I just got a glimpse of PNW January sun (We_tside). A token 3 minutes! That's a sunny day! Even in the midst of an 'Atmospheric River' Over 10" so far this month. Still have a few 'ice drifts' around the trees (those still standing).
