Anyone have any experience with CWA in Tacoma?
Being shy, creative and bright, I need a school for my middle schooler that has smaller classes, opportunity for subject acceleration and a well developed, supported music/arts program.
Any thoughts or comments

I don't have personal experience, but I know a few people whose kids attend CWA and I hear nothing but good things.

Yes, I believe it is. I know when I drive by the campus I usually see soccar or track practice. They have a very nice grounds. Have you tried contacting someone from the academy? I can ask my neighbors tonight and see what they say about the school.

That would be fantastic! Both boys are middle of the road athletes but I would classify them more as 'mathletes' and 'musicians' than athletic. I like to compare the feedback from parents to the information I receive from the administrators - used to be a teacher

Thank you again
Do you live in the University Place area? If so, what do you like/dislike?

I used to coach at Life Christian, who was in the same league as CWA. CWA is very sports focused. State Champions in cross country and track, state appearances in basketball and volleyball. Not sure about their tennis and baseball and softball. Football is decent. They are definately an opportunity school, as you don't have to be a star athlete to participate, but they've got great coaches, nice facilities, and a strong support system.
Academically they're very strong. You pay for it all, too, though. I'm not sure what their tuition is anymore, but I know it's approaching college numbers.
I used to live in UP, and it's done nothing but improve since I've been there (and it was nice then). My only gripe with UP was it was far away from everything. Not in mileage, but in time. 25MPH roads and lots of stop signs/lights made it feel like 15 min to get anywhere (store, HWY, etc). Great places to walk, bike ride, nice parks, public apple orchard, nice neighborhoods, world class new golf course.
I'll DM you with the phone number for the GH Youth Orchestra as well. I got a call back tonight but have the number on my other phone.
