Thanks! No macro lens, I just use my Canon FD 50mm 1.4 mounted to my Fuji with an adapter. I can focus from about 12-18 inches away, but then I also usually have to crop the images to magnify the subject the way I want. All of those photos are cropped quite a bit. I would like to get a true macro lens eventually.

I'll second that emotion, Lamplight! Your Washington state photos are probably my favorite part of city-data Washington. I don't feel like joining a bunch of bickering posters in some of these forums. Politics and leader bashing and gun-toting fanboys just doesn't get my motor running at all, it just doesn't work. Your photos are uplifting because I love the scenery of Washington state. I believe that the scenery in Washington can't be beat anywhere in America.

Lots of pictures today. I biked to Lummi Island, explored a bit, then rode back. Needless to say, every square inch of my body hurts.

That's a bunch of miles, isn't it? My favorite ones are the shots of Mt.Baker. These pictures are drawing me back home. I may need ta head back home, some strange force is drawing me back to Washington state!

Total mileage was 59 miles. The farthest I've ever ridden was 60, but I was 17 years younger and there wasn't that much climbing. This ride had 1400 feet of climbing! I took so many shots of Mt Baker throughout the day that I finally had to tell myself I was wasting time, because many of them were only slightly different. But there is something alluring about seeing that big mountain rising up over the hills, making Bellingham look tiiiiiny.

I did a ride with 4600 feet of climbing and 65 miles a few months ago. Started at 8 am finished around 6:30 with many stops:

But measure your rides in photos not climbs. You probably win that.

Wow, yeah...definitely couldn't do that. I started yesterday around 9:30 am and got home about 5 pm, and I figured about two hours for various stops, including lunch, waiting for the ferry, riding the ferry, etc. The most I've climbed in one ride so far was 2100 ft, which nearly killed me. But that was 17 fewer miles than this ride, so they were both similarly difficult for me.

I posted these in the phtotgraphy thread also but thought I'd add them here.
Sunrise area Mt Rainier National park. The trails there are an easy hike, at least for a few miles.
