D. The only reason I didn't give it an F is that it lacks severe cold. And I've lived in cold places and learned to deal. As dreary as England without any of the mildness.

Newfoundland is a neat place to visit and its cloudiness fits with the area. Beautiful stark landscapes. Snow sticks around at 2000 feet on the first day of July.

Unfortunately, the two photos I found are sunny. I'll look for some cloudy ones later.

Just added a cloudy one. Person in photo removed.

F for sure. I've been to Newfoundland and found it to be windy, foggy and generally dreary in summer no less. Coming from a Vancouverite, that's not a very good complement about their weather. However, as nei says, Newfoundland is a really cool place and I love the people and landscapes there even if the weather leaves much to be desired.

I say a B. Nice winters with lots of snow but summers are a bit too cool.

Nice photos. Would love to visit someday. I don't think there would be a single month that I'd be disappointed with the weather there.

I'd rate it an E but as there is no E category, I'd lean more towards an F (my "E" rating would be due to the relatively mild winters - it could be worse in other words).

Not even with all the snow? Looks like there's some decent skiing in Newfoundland.

Snow is good in reasonable quantities. I like snow around the holidays and maybe for 6-8 weeks after that - just enough for a few ski tirps here and there. St. Johns has snow from October to May. That's 6 to 8 months.

Secondly, the lack of sunshine makes both snow and skiing much less enjoyable.

I didn't want to give an F - I'm usually hesitant to give out A's and F's - but this climate has almost no redeeming features. Very short and cool summers (if they even exist). Long and cold winters (though not frigid, they're still much colder than in NYC). The lack of sunshine is really the nail in the coffin. Sorry

EDIT: It as if this climate were a combination of the gloominess of maritime climates and the cold and snow of continental climates.
