Those lows are surprisingly low, with NYC I can't recall having such a wide range of temperatures, if the high temperature is 100 degrees the low temperature will probably be in the upper 70's or 80's.
To me great weather is sunshine and heat, it's just my preference. I'm excited for this heat wave that started today, it's only going to get hotter.
Call me crazy but I love weather like this, I don't enjoy any other season except spring.
I just looked at the temp history for January for your city. It is not even as bad as you make it out to be. Link (History : Weather Underground). This weather is much cooler than southern US standard. I have lived through worse weather by the way. In Texas, we got 100+ for 7 weeks straight.

But Montevideo is cooler than Buenos Aires. They have the ocean. Buenos Aires, with no ocean and no lake and all the asphalt, its actually MUCH hotter than cities near it, cause its so populated, you know? it feels much hotter. I think Buenos Aires does have pleasant weather but NOT in the summer, in the summer is just so unpleaseant is unbelievable.

sanfel, i know! I had the 100 f consfused. I lived in USA for a while and in my mind i have the real exchange between farenheit and celsius and i remember it without even looking it up. The fact is that i haved it WRONG cause i thought 100 f were 34 celsius, but they are not. So, you are right, it doesnt reach 100 f often (maybe the feels like does, but no the actual temperature).
However, it does reach more than 30 c all the time in the summer, and that, for me, qualifies as HOT. Only this crazy people from Texas wouldnt qualify constant over 30 weather as hot!
BA is just two degrees C or so warmer in the summer, the distance from the ocean is not much different, either, as both cities are located at the Rio de la Plata estuary.
The more urban environment of BA accounts for that 2 degree C temperature difference.
Not true. Most people dislike heat and sunshine. That is why you see more people complain, especially on this forum, about the heat than the cold.
My impression is just the opposite. It seems the majority on this forum prefer warmer, sunnier climates, although I wouldn't say they're a huge majority. And my experience in "real life" is that nearly everyone at least claims they prefer hot, sunny weather. Actually, I can only think of one person I know who, like me, prefers cooler weather and clouds. Every other person I know would tell you they love summer, heat, and sun.

That's also my experience.
In everyday conversations great weather = blue skies and sunshine, whereas bad weather = rain.
(I suppose people in Sudan think differently, but I have never talked to any of them.)
