Warning for South Texas:
Timing... both Monday and Tuesday afternoons are expected to see
heat index values in the 111 to 114 degree range which will
create dangerous conditions for outdoor activities. Overnight lows in
the upper 70s to low 80s with very high humidity will provide
little overnight relief.
At least two records were broken with Brownsville
breaking a record that was on the books for 116 years (1896) with 99 degrees and
Harlingen set a record of 102 degrees which was set in 1942 (70
years)
No relief expected at night with
Gulf moisture not allowing for any significant cooling with
overnight lows ranging from the upper 70s to lower 80s
And I'm visiting family there in one week
