^^ Wow, I've noticed before that unimaginably vast areas of Russia can be experiencing the same sort of anomaly at the same time - what's happening in Eurasia now is the equivalent of London and Vancouver having the same cold spell at the same time!
I always feel like a cold spell is wasted without snow...Berliners must be pretty disappointed that todays high was like -7c but with no real snow (maybe a dusting or maybe a hoar frost) on the ground, in fact not much snow in East Germany/western poland and only thin snow east of that - not good as it allows frost to penetrate deep into the ground and kill the seeds...
As far as i know no snow is predicted either...wonder how low temps can go in the absence of snow cover?
Anyway, looks like the most severe cold will go well south of the UK.
