Yes, you are truly right, man ! It looks like you have been here! In the second half of May and the first one of June thunderstorms happen every other day - usually the day starts with hot and muggy weather and finishes with wonderful flavour of ozone in the air due to afternoon thunderstorm- mmm j'adore this time of year.

That sounds lovely (well, not the hot and muggy part) - I should have rated this higher knowing how many thunderstorms it gets. True four seasons is what I love.

real winter usually starts in mid-Jan. and lasts till the end of Feb. It snows very seldom and moderately. The most common event in winter is thick fog especially towards the evening and in the morning. Daytime frosts are rare in Nalchik even in winter.Though this winter was exceptionally cold. Terrible cold air arrived in 20s of Jan and tortured us till 20s of Feb with daytime temps well below -10 and -20 nightime. And one of the firsts nights of Feb the temp FELL-it was -27. Meteorologists say it happend due to Siberian anticyclone which had formed not above Mongolia as usual but above Northern Urals-much closer to Europe.
