Eagle River is the only one with winter, so it wins. But I'm not sure it really fits the challenge since it's not right on the coast. Once you get on the other side of the coastal mountains the temperatures are much less moderated by the maritime influence, and it's quite a bit drier as well. A better comparison might be Kodiak, Cordova, or somewhere in Southeast.

This is a great point, and the same could be said for Oak Harbor as well. Hmmm, guess I didn't think it through too well. FWIW there is no way in hell I would choose a southeast Alaska climate. WAAAAY too much rain. However I really do like Eagle River's climate. Same for say, Aberdeen vs Oak Harbor in Washington. Although all truly are subject to maritime influence, perhaps we need to do a new, revised thread for truly coastal only cities.
(BTW I voted Eagle River for a true winter, although I could do with at least slightly warmer and drier summers, I would live with ER's for the real winter).
Being the only one with a good, "high winter" period, or any winter for that matter, along with its summers that are very close to my version of perfection, Eagle River, Alaska is the best choice for me. On an absolute basis, it's not bad, but I despise chinook winds (which this place gets a few times a winter), it's not nearly as prone to winter cold snaps as I'd like, and I could certainly do with double to triple the amount of snowfall. Summer low temperatures look a bit too stable, and could use some colder record lows, but they're still good. Aside from wintertime, I like the record highs just fine (all-time high of 84F is great).

Avalon even though the name makes it sound much cooler and cloudier.
