Record max: 34.0 C Örebro on August 3, 2014 (weather station said 33.7 but that was not in the urban area).
Record low: -25.7 C Norrköping (my nearest weather station) December 23, 2010. My location more than 50 km away saw very similar temps that night. My guess? -26.0 C It usually is 0.3 degrees colder during winter nights here.
Record high may be higher since I was in the interior when Porto saw a 31 C day in June 2005, but it's unconfirmed. Deffo not above 35 C that day though.
The nearest weather station to my place is practically as old as me, it started to collect data in 1992
High: +35.5°C = 96°F (11th August 2003)*
Low: -10.9°C = 12°F (6th February 2012)*
(*I'm not completely sure about the exact day because I saved the data as monthly averages and extremes, and the website with all the daily measures today is not working. So I looked for the coldest and warmest days in these two months for a near weather station whose website today is working. I'm practically sure that the days are the same, but as soon as the website will work again I will check them.*)
Other note: the conversion is °F are rounded to the nearest integer.
My personal records:
Hottest-August 9, 2001 in Long Island, NY (100 degrees)
Hottest in my memory-July 3, 2016 in Sandy Springs, GA (98 degrees)
Coldest-January 18, 2016 in Chicago, IL (-1 degree)
I think I've read about the December 1894 cold snap before. One of those severe in history, I believe February 1895 had a severe cold snap as well.
In West Palm Beach the December 1894 cold snap had a day with a high of 43F and a low of 24F. The February 1895 cold snap had a day with a high of 40F and a low of 28F. Probably 1-2F warmer in Miami so both the coldest high (41-42F?) and coldest low (25-26F?) would likely have been set during this period.
