Dakar is warm to hot year round with a short wet season between July and October, with the remaining 8 months having dry and cooler conditions. Also experiences around 3,000 hours of annual sunshine. It's maritime location on the Cap-Vert peninsula keeps Dakar much cooler than areas further inland.

As for Dakar, I'll give it a generous C. It's probably the best climate in that area...

The oceanic influence certainly helps.

I like the 3000 hours of sun and the low precip levels for most of the year

I'm with Candle. Hot year round, too dry, no winter, probably awfully brown, but still the best low-elevation climate at that latitude anywhere in the world.

C here.

Wow, it is actually good for West Africa at sea level. January - April sounds like pleasant summer weather. Can't say the same about the other months though, from June to November the weather does look hellish.

Thus I go with a D+... It would be a C if high summer was a bit lighter.

It's better than I expected but still way too hot throughout the year and too much sunshine and humidity. I give it an F.
