This is a thread exclusively devoted to tracking thunderstorm lines. I would like to keep track of the number of storms hitting several areas, relative strengths, and impact on conditions before and after. So here is my question. How many thunderstorms do you see in summer. For us, its around 25 storms every summer. There is one scheduled today evening, and I hope it hits hard.

Here is inspiration :

We average 40.1 thunderstorm days in a year, so the amount of thunderstorm days in summer is between 20 and 35. We've had 6 in June and 2 so far in July, and more are forecast for the next few days.

I would love to see a line of thunderstorms sweep across inland California. Desert landscape with thunderstorm clouds = Awesome setup. And those guys need rain anyways.

Buxton missed out on any thunderstorms today. But so what, British thunderstorms are whack, the blitzortung lightning showed they were only producing about 1 flash every 2-3 minutes between them (despite the usual "bigging up" of the "massive storms" on netweather ) so I haven't missed much.

We had thunder on June 9th and way back in January, a total of 3 days with any thunder heard so far this year; given the weird nature of our climate, we'll probably get nothing else all year until November, when there will be a freak clap of thunder in a heavy snow shower on 28th at 10:59PM.

Few days ago I was in the loudest thunderstorm I've ever seen. First you hear a crack in the sky then the huge rumble.

I'll post some pics later.

Nothing here either since mid-June. It was simply too cold, especially the sea, so all thundery action was in inland SE Finland, as usual.

But if the weather continues like this, there ought to be some soon.
