I thought there was one already but I searched and it appears there is no rate the climate for London! So here it is.

Tmax--Tmin--Precip--Sun (all in imperial)

Jan: 47--36--2.2"--61 hrs
Feb: 47--36--1.6"--78 hrs
Mar: 53--39--1.6"--114 hrs
Apr: 58--42--1.7"--168 hrs
May: 64--48--1.9"--197 hrs
Jun: 70--53--1.8"--206 hrs
Jul: 74--57--1.8"--211 hrs
Aug: 74--57--1.9"--203 hrs
Sep: 68--53--1.9"--148 hrs
Oct: 60--47--2.7"--116 hrs
Nov: 52--41--2.3"--72 hrs
Dec: 47--37--2.2"--52 hrs

Pretty much the same as Paris but slightly drier, slightly less sunshine, warmer winters and cooler summers.

I thought sunshine was 1460 hours - that's the Greenwich figure and that's also certainly how it felt to me every time I've been there, winter or summer, it was rarely sunny for more than brief periods of time at a time even in July.

Anyway, London has many great things about it but certainly not its dreary climate. Temps are inoffensive, though I would add a good 10 degrees in every season, but summers are really crappy and I hate such a low sunshine.

London has a boring climate - C

You must have been unlucky then dhdh, London has at least a week long spell of heat and sunshine every summer.

These figures are for Heathrow. Greenwich is an anomaly in the area.

London gets a D. All the little differences you highlighted make it a slightly worse climate than my home town in my eyes. But it's definitely one of the best (least maritime) in the British Isles.

D. Little to like about this place. Boring, overcast, the worst possible winters where it's about as cold and gloomy as it can get for liquid precipitation, I'd rather colder snowy winters, atleast a regular snowfall would be more interesting than homosexual drizzle, especially at these skin penetrating temps. Summers suck. As they say.. "b0ll0cks" to this climate.

D- the Winters are absolutely awful for its latitude. My winters are crap but a bit barely as highs are around 42f and we get some snow.

Its summer is a bit better but nothing that would excite me.

Winters look nice, reminds me of last winter in NYC but with a lot less sunshine, the relatively mild winter temperatures are the only thing saving it from an E rating. It's too cool + overcast for me and with the nonexistent summer I'd really be bothered, I probably wouldn't last a month.

C- for me. Needs more sun and rain, plus warmer winters. Summer looks nice, but I not sure how to regard this UHI business. Is this the typical climate of the greater metro area -or just an anomaly confined to a small area within London?

Slough is around the same as central London in the summer because it's part of the built up urban area.. get further out into Surrey and summers become cooler, noticeably.
