It's a common misconception that the Auroras are an everyday phenomenon in high latitudes. Near the poles yes, but decreases rapidly with latitude. well, thats a bit too generalizing, considering that the magnetic north pole i centered around arctic canada. due to this, the aurora is visible far further south in north america than in europe.

Looks like Boston's magnetic latitude is similar to Copenhagen's

Northenmost: Amsterdam, The Netherlands, 52º22' N in August 2011.
Weather was partly cloudy most of the time with high temperatures about 20 or 22º C, and I've experienced two thunderstorms at night there.

Southernmost: Almería, Spain, 36º49' N in February 2008.
Weather was mostly clear with high temperatures about 18 or 20º C.
